Tech Support

The 24/7 IT Support Center

Know the Policies

• The University's Code of Conduct - also applies to your online activity
• Specific campus computing policies - use of the campus network, campus equipment, and university email.
• The Residence Life Policy on Acceptable Use of Computers and Networks -  network use in the residence halls
• About Copyright - know the difference between legal and illegal use and sharing of copyrighted material

Computer Security

The University takes data security seriously. If your computer has been compromised, you may be blocked from the University network.

• Sophos - free anti-virus software
• Do not share your password with anyone
  • If you need to change your password, visit netid.arizona.edu
  • If you need to share information in your UAccess Student account, for example, with a parent, set up a Guest Center account
• The Information Security Office - more tips on keeping your private data safe
• The 24/7 IT Support Center - if you suspect you have a virus or malware, or if you have been blocked from the network

CatMail

• Your email address will be your UA NetID @email.arizona.edu
• Read it at catmail.arizona.edu using your email address and NetID password

Campus Computing Resources

Many departments, colleges, and programs have their own networks, computer labs, workshops, and other information technology resources. Check with your instructor or program coordinator for resources specific to your courses.

COMPUTER LABS	The Office of Student Computing Resources (OSCR): open-access general computing labs and multimedia labs The UA Library Info Commons: open-access computer labs Use the WEPA service if you need to print out files while on campus.
MULTIMEDIA GEAR	OSCR's Gear-to-Go - check out: digital still cameras digital videocameras microphones  lighting equipment
SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE	SiteLicense website - software available for free or low cost: free Microsoft Windows OS and Office free Sophos anti-virus software and subscription specific educational software (statistics, math, etc.) A wide variety of software and machines are available for use in the labs listed above.
