Changing Your Password for UA WiFi

If your NetID password is changed, and you want to connect to UAWiFi, you will need to follow the instructions below.

In Windows XP ZeroConfig

  1. Close any windows currently open.
  2. Open the Start menu and click on "Run."
  3. Type "cmd" in the window that appears and click OK.
  4. At the command prompt, type the following:
    reg delete hkcu\software\microsoft\eapol\usereapinfo /f
    (Please note that there needs to be a space before the final "/f")
  5. Press Enter. This will remove the saved username and password from your registry.
  6. Log off or Restart Windows XP
  7. Next time you connect to UAWiFi, Windows will ask you for your username and password.
  8. Enter your NetID username and new password

In Windows Vista and 7

  1. Click the small wireless icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen.  If you do not see the wireless icon, you may need to expand your task tray by clicking the small arrow to the left of the icons.
  2. Choose "Network and Sharing Center"
  3. Click the link marked "Manage wireless networks"
  4. Click once on the entry for UAWiFi, then click "Remove" at the top of the list.
  5. Close the Network and Sharing Center.
  6. Reboot your computer.
  7. On Windows Vista, after you reboot you should be able to choose UAWiFi from the list of available networks and simply enter your NetID and new password to connect.  On Windows 7, you may need to follow the manual setup guide located at

In Mac OS X 10.5 - 10.8

  1. Turn your Airport OFF by clicking the Airport icon in the top-right corner of your screen and choosing "Turn Airport Off" or by opening the System Preferences -> Network panel and clicking "Turn Airport Off."
  2. Open a Finder window and navigate to Applications -> Utilities.
  3. Launch the "Keychain Access" application.
  4. Type "UAWifi" in the search box. Delete any login items you might find.
  5. Type "" in the search box.  Delete any items you find.
  6. Type "" in the search box.  Delete any items you find.
  7. Launch "System Preferences" and click "Network".  Then click the "UAWiFi" entry and click the small minus sign at the bottom of the list to remove it.
  8. Click "OK".
  9. Next time you connect to UAWiFi, you will be asked for your username and password.
  10. Enter your NetID username and new password.
  11. If you are prompted to accept a certificate, make sure it is from "" or "" and, if so, choose to always trust it and continue.
