My piece of the puzzle: Mohammad Torabi, a native of southwestern Iran, is a statistical consultant in the Research Computing group of University Information Technology Services (UITS.) He is involved with high performance computing, mostly in FORTRAN programming and batch queue management. He also teaches several workshops on statistical packages during the year and as requested by faculty. Background & Education: Mohammad received his doctorate in 1978 from Utah State University in population genetics, with a minor in applied statistics. He received a second master's -- in applied statistics -- in 1991 while working at The University of Arizona. He served as a faculty member at Tehran University from 1978 to 1982 and was dean of the agricultural college at Razi University in the city of Kermanshah, Iran, from 1982 to 1984. In 1984 he moved back to the US, working for the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He moved to the UA in 1986 as a bio-statistician for the department of animal sciences in the College of Agriculture. He moved to the Computer Center in 1989 and has worked here since.
