Websites hosted on the FrontPage server

FrontPage Server Extensions enabled web sites provided on a Windows server running IIS and FrontPage Server Extensions 2002. The web sites are available to official University of Arizona Colleges, Departments, Faculty, Staff and Instructional Computing.

How to Access or Request 

To request a new FrontPage web site complete the FrontPage Web Site Request Form

To edit an existing FrontPage web site:

  • Start Front Page 2000, FrontPage 2003 or Microsoft Expression Web (note that websites hosted on this server may only be modified/updated by FrontPage or Expression Web, no other form of access is enabled)
  • Go to File, Open Web or File, Open Site
  • Type "http://fp.arizona.edu/websitename", without the quotes and where websitename is the name of your site.
  • You will be prompted with a username/password window.  You must type in canet\ before you type in your username. For example:  catnet\lgray (remember the \ after catnet).
  • Your username and password should match your UANet ID username and password.
  • This will open your Front Page Web for authoring.
  • You must name all home pages to one of the following: default.htm, default.asp, index.htm, index.html
  •  Please do not make any absolute links on your pages that will point to any pages within your own web site, use relative links please. Any external links will have to be absolute and we recognize this but within your own web site refer to other pages with relative paths.
Hours of Availability 

FrontPage web sites are generally available 24/7. We do perform scheduled maintenance on the server for patching and upgrades. Advance notice is sent to the UITSFPAuthors listserv prior to scheduled maintenance.

Requests for new FrontPage web sites are generally processed between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday, except for holidays.

Applicable Policy 
  • In order to request a FrontPage web site you must have a valid UANetID and be a member of the UA Faculty or Staff.
  • FrontPage web sites must be renewed annually.  The owner of the site will receive an initial renewal prompt in October of each year with subsequent follow up notices in November and December.  If the site owner does not respond to the renewal prompts the site will be archived for up to two months after which it will be deleted.
  • Changes to an existing FrontPage web site (i.e. access requests) will not be made unless requested or approved by the site owner.
