The University of Arizona BookStores and the Office of the CIO are excited to announce the University’s recent renewal of the Microsoft Campus Agreement (MCA).  The Office of the CIO was able to enhance our current Microsoft Campus Agreement during the renewal negotiations for the MCA Server Option and Student Option, in addition to the renewal of the current Faculty and Staff agreement. This three year agreement will be funded by the CIO Office on an ongoing annual basis beginning July 1, 2012.

Under the new, enhanced MCA, UA Departments continue to be eligible to receive free select Microsoft applications (including Microsoft Office) and will now also be able to take advantage of site licenses for Enterprise Server products.  Access to free Microsoft applications and Server products will radically reduce departmental costs and eliminate the need for departmental software license tracking.

Our renewed campus site license also allows your department to receive free product upgrades for the entire 3-year duration of the agreement, and free eLearning tutorials through the IT Academy (https://sitelicense.arizona.edu/itacademy/) are provided to keep your department proficient in Microsoft programs and reduce departmental training costs.

Our new Microsoft Campus Agreement includes the following for UA departments:

STUDENT OPTION: The student licenses for Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows upgrades are covered under the University of Arizona’s Microsoft Campus Agreement; students are eligible to download one copy of the current version of Microsoft Office (for a PC or Mac) and one copy of Microsoft Windows upgrade (for a PC or Mac) at no charge. The products are as follows:

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010

Microsoft Office for Mac 2011

Windows 7 Enterprise Upgrade 32 bit

Windows 7 Enterprise Upgrade 64 bit

Students are also eligible to download new product releases and upgrades when they become available to Microsoft Campus Agreement clients.

FACULTY/STAFF OPTION: Site license for faculty/staff departmental use of Mac and PC Enterprise Desktop products (Office Professional Plus and Windows 7 OS) plus MS Visio and MS Project.

Home Use and eLearning!

The MCA also makes it easier for faculty and staff to enjoy Microsoft Office for personal use at home—University employees can now download Microsoft Office products to one personally owned computer for a very small fee.

PLUS, you can develop your skills and knowledge of the latest programs by using Microsoft’s free eLearning tutorials.   Conveniently accessed online, these lessons allow you to learn about your software at your discretion and on the privacy of your own computer.

SERVER OPTION: Site licenses for Core Enterprise Server products for all campus servers. Server products included**:

Windows Server – All Editions

Microsoft SharePoint Server – All Editions

Microsoft Exchange Server – All Editions

Microsoft Lync Server – All Editions

Windows Server External Connector

Exchange Server External Connector

Lync Server Standard External Connector

Windows HPC Server
(** Does not include FAST Search for SharePoint, Forefront UAG, TMG, or System Center 2012 Datacenter, Windows RMS EC, SharePoint for Internet Sites Enterprise, Lync Server Enterprise EC)

Ability to purchase SQL and Systems Center server products for all campus servers at discount rates.

Information about eligibility and download details will be available at the Arizona BookStores website Monday, July 2, and the URL will be announced at that time.
