UA Net ID Account

The UA NetID is a secure, efficient way for the University and its computer systems to ensure that you are who you say you are before allowing access to potentially sensitive information. It will allow you to use just one user name and password to access a growing number of online services at the University of Arizona.

 

The UA NetID uses the same login and password as your U-System or Email ID. So, if you already have a UITS Email or U-System account, then you already have UA NetID established.

    You need to know your student or employee ID, if an employee your catcard number, a PIN number and your birth date to create a UA NetID.

  • Change your NetID Password

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW NetID PASSWORDS
  • -Be at least 10 characters long but less than 24
  • -Have at least 1 uppercase and 1 lowercase letter
  • -Have 1 number
  • -Have 1 special character within the string but not at the end, any of these work !@#$%^&*_+|~-=\`:";'<>?,./
  • Other Requirements:
  • -Cannot be based on personal info such as your name or NetID.
  • -Cannot be based on an old password
  • Recommendations:
  • -think of a "pass phrase" instead of a password.
  • Think of nursery rhymes, songs, slogans, mottos.
  • Pick a phrase, or even a sentence, that you can remember.
  • Ex. Home of the University of Arizona Wildcats 2008 becomes HotUoAW-c08 by using the first letter of each word in your phrase
  • -Misspell a word with numbers and characters
  • Ex. Ranger Rick becomes R@ng3r-R1ck
  • Errors:
  • -You did not confirm your password
  • -Solution: This means that your new password and confirm password
  • did not match. It is recommended that you delete both
  • of them and start over
  • -Incorrect NetID or current password
  • -Solution: Make sure that you inputting your correct netid.
  • Your NetID will be what you use for your email so NetID@email.arizona.edu or NetId@u.arizona.edu

A UA NetID provides access to:

  • Email and UITS computing accounts (email.arizona.edu, u.arizona.edu, U-System, etc.)
  • Web applications (D2L, Employee Link, Student Link, Advisor Link, Form Link, Caucus, etc.)
  • University site-licensed software
  • OSCR computer labs
  • UA CBT

UA NetIDs are available to:

  • Undergraduate Students: Usually within one business day after enrolling for a current or future term or registering AND PAYING for an orientation session
  • Graduate Students: Usually within one business day after enrolling for a current or future term
  • Staff who have their employee ID and a Cat Card.
  • Faculty who have their employee ID and a Cat Card.
  • Retirees who have a retiree status in the payroll system.
  • Department Sponsored Visitors who are sponsored by their department.
